Kristy Crownover, MA, AMFT
Today you are one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being. As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and nurture the relationships in your life. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand our struggles and find ways to heal and move forward. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
I specialize in attachment and helping families create secure attachment. Our emotional awareness in ourselves and others, gives us the information we need to communicate more effectively and be responsive with our loved ones. I enjoy helping couples learn about their negative cycle and how to create a new positive dance with each other. Families can learn to understand each other's needs and behaviors that can get misunderstood during conflicts. I am passionate about helping pregnant families prepare for their birth and create a safe, responsive environment for the baby and each other. Positive parenting and non-violent communication are tools to help parents increase connection with their children and find creative ways to set loving boundaries that allow for everyone's needs to be met. Teenagers are in a unique time of their life and sometimes require extra support in learning to manage the feelings and expectations that come with these delicate years. Children need the adults in their life to be at their best. Understanding the age-appropriate behaviors and stages of development can help parents make better choices to support their children in their growth. It is in our most important relationships that we soothe old wounds and grow emotionally. Investing time in repairing these relationships is beneficial for everyone involved. Stress, anxiety and depression are difficult to manage alone. I work with clients to find relief from these difficulties. If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
